Leading Ladies & A Plate Full O’ Blues

The Peacock Performing Arts Center is a community favorite in the far western counties of North Carolina. Providing a venue for musicians, aspiring actors, and all who appreciate the arts, this community theater has a steady lineup that always entertains.

The month of August offers a little comic relief with the Leading Ladies performance August 9-11; 16-18 and the legendary Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues concert on August 24th.

The Peacock has quite the calendar with four productions in the Theatrical Season, year-round Main Stage Events, and the Song Writer Showcase concert series from April through September. With such an intimate venue, there truly is no bad seat. The talent that takes the stage is always amazing and the camps that are offered to foster a love of the arts in our community is priceless.

Goldhagen Glass

People are always impressed by the number of artists living in and around Cherokee County. From live music at local establishments to our very own Goldhagen Art Glass Studio, we’re an experience that simply can’t be replicated.

While you can find David Goldhagen’s art glass in places like New York and Philadelphia, it’s all created in his studio right here in Hayesville, North Carolina. To watch this process is truly amazing…

David Goldhagen presenting the process of his Art Glass at the Folk School. Visit his own studio just up the road in Hayesville, North Carolina.

You can schedule a time to tour his studio and watch from the viewing balcony as he creates, just give him a call to schedule a tour. BUT… I highly recommend his Hot Summer Nights concert series. Get to know locals and visitors as you enjoy live music and truly experience David’s time-honored techniques as he produces bold, vibrant sculptures along the shores of Lake Chatuge.

You’ll definitely want to take home a souvenir so be sure to explore the Goldhagen Gallery during your visit. David’s sculptures, fused glass, ornaments, platters, and all of his creations make a truly one-of-a-kind gift that is sure to be a conversation piece. If you’re traveling, no worries! Goldhagen Art Glass Studio will happily ship your items for you.
