The Heritage Partners is an active organization throughout our community and best know for their work on the Murphy River Walk. It’s only fitting that we take in the natural beauty of our community during this last month of Summer.
Congratulations to our Door Prize Winners at last month’s AfterHours! Elo-ly Bailey, Barbara Hughes, and Corey Bailey were the lucky table at Bojangles’ in Murphy!
We celebrated the first anniversary of Bojangles’ in Murphy with a Ribbon Cutting and AfterHours networking event Thursday July 18th. Bojangles’ provided true Southern hospitality and an impressive spread, including their new pimento cheese that wowed all in attendance. Pictures center with scissors are owner, Crystal and general manager, Kristi. Holding the ribbon at the left is marketing director, Regina and on the right, catering manager, Ronda. For information and catering, contact Bojangles’ at 828-516-2105 and visit their location at 1563 Andrews Road in Murphy.
We are beyond grateful to have Elo-ly and Corey supporting this community that they have called home for the past 15 years. With the experience from their career in Claims and Risk Management, they have been an asset to the boards on which they serve. While they love to be a part of our community with such diverse interests, they moved to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren in Marietta. We honestly don’t know how they keep up with it all, but we’re so grateful!
In their free time, Elo-ly and Corey enjoy the quiet beauty around their house. Sharing their 5 acres with deer, turkeys, wood ducks, fish, 8 cats, and 1 dog certainly helps them recharge to go right back out and serve in this beautiful mountain community.
If you haven’t met the Baileys yet, we would love to introduce you at our August 15th AfterHours with Heritage Partners on the Murphy River Walk. They’re always fun to chat with, so grab a glass of wine and they can tell you about some great ways to experience the whole county: from the rivers to the mountains, the fun of small town shopping, and some delicious local restaurants. Just remember to let us know… what’s your favorite way to enjoy Cherokee County?
George has been living here in North Carolina for just over a year, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery. You’ll see him out and about at our Chamber AfterHours, meeting new folks. While he may be new to our community, he has been providing firearms training to students of all levels for over 6 years after his cousin Henry got him back into competitive shooting. He loves to teach others about gun safety, stressing that a gun is a tool that everyone must learn to use safely.
If you currently have your concealed carry permit and interested in becoming a USCCA Training Counselor, Dr. George offers this and additional training opportunities. If you get a chance, sit down and enjoy a slice of pizza and red wine as you chat about all that he offers at Gaines Concealed Carry and his past experiences in education. Better yet, join us at our AfterHours and get to know many of our members!
Each month Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosts an AfterHours networking event. Bojangles’ will be our host on July 18th in Murphy from 5:00 – 7:00pm. We invite our members, local businesses, and entrepreneurs to join us! We offer door prizes and select our Member of the Month and Ambassador of the Month from those in attendance. Be sure to bring your business cards and stay a while!
